Christchurch Justice Precinct

The Challenge

The Justice Precinct is one of the landmark government projects designed to relocate all justice services onto one site following the Christchurch earthquakes. 

James Bull were asked to provide an electro mechanical solution for locking cell doors that will integrate with the buildings access control system.

The key to this challenge was the integration with the access control system to ensure the full integrity of security at all times. Wouldn’t look good for the Justice Precinct to have their own security breached!!!

The second critical factor was the short timeframe, meeting the project deadline but at the same time working simultaneously with other providers.

The Solution

James Bull team initially worked  with the access control company, architects, and end user to determine exact requirements of the specification.
With security being of the highest importance, choosing the correct products for this type of environment was critical

Once detailed we were able to supply and install Chubb detention locks, and associated products including power supplies, REX buttons, and mag clamps, all within the tight time frame.
